I’ve long admired Swedish Marten speakers at HiFi shows over the years, but never had the pleasure of living with a pair. So far.

To me, the Marten Parker Trio 2.5-Way leans towards the sleek side of the design. The 1″ ceramic tweeter and 7.5″ mid/bass drivers are crafted to designer Leif Olofsson’s specifications and, when combined with a pair of rear-firing 9″ aluminum passive radiators , offer a claimed frequency response of 26-40000 Hz (+-2dB). It’s a full range.

Marten went to great lengths to eliminate cabinet resonances with the use of multi-layered M-Board in the tapered sides of the cabinet and custom footers developed in conjunction with IsoAcoustics.

A single pair of WBT Nextgen mounting bollards are surrounded by a mirror polished stainless steel badge that matches the mirror polished stainless steel brackets and feet.

The Parker Series, named after Charlie Parker, sits in the middle of Marten’s jazz-inspired lineup and includes the larger Parker Quintet and the smaller Parker Duo stand. The review pair came in the Piano Walnut finish. Matte Walnut and Piano Black are also available.

While I can’t speak to how they sound just yet, I can tell you that the build quality of the Parker Trio is impressive (and sleek). I can’t wait to spend some real time in the barn just listening.
